Cookie and Storage Notice
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Your Choice
Necessary storage is used for functions you request and to remember your privacy choice. Optional analytics and experiments, personalisation, and marketing storage is off until you actively choose it. Accept all and reject optional are presented with equal prominence, and you can select categories individually. Use Cookie Preferences in the footer at any time to change or withdraw a choice. Rejecting optional storage does not stop the limited, cookieless Google measurement described below.
Necessary and Requested Features
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ku_consent_v1 | Kennington Upholstery | Stores a signed record of your category choices so the site can honour them. | 180 days |
| ku-session | Kennington Upholstery | Authenticates a customer account after sign-in. | 30 days |
| ku-cart, ku-wishlist | Kennington Upholstery | Keeps items you deliberately add to a basket or wishlist on this device. | Until removed or browser storage is cleared |
| ku-view-mode, ku-recently-viewed | Kennington Upholstery | Remembers a view you selected and products viewed on this device. | Until browser storage is cleared |
| ku-contact-form-draft-v1, ku-quote-form-draft-v1, ku-quote-estimator-draft-v1 | Kennington Upholstery | Temporarily keeps an unfinished enquiry in this browser tab so details survive page navigation. Photograph files are never stored here. | Up to 2 hours, or until the browser tab session ends |
Interactive Google Maps and Reviews
The static workshop details and dated review snapshot do not contact Google. The workshop map is embedded directly on pages that display it and may connect to Google when the page loads. Live Business Profile reviews load automatically only after marketing consent and when the panel is near the viewport; you can also request the reviews directly without changing your saved category choice. Google may use cookies or similar browser storage and receive technical request and interaction information. Exact names and durations are controlled by Google and can change. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Maps Platform Terms.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps / Places cookies and browser storage (names vary) | Delivers the embedded workshop map when a page containing it opens, or live Google Business Profile reviews after you allow automatic loading or request them. | Varies by Google identifier, browser state, and Google configuration |
Analytics and Experiments
PostHog and optional analytics storage load only after analytics and experiments consent. PostHog traffic is routed to its EU service through our first-party endpoint. Full URL query and fragment text, form values, message text, and uploaded photographs are excluded. PostHog analytics identity and session state are memory-only. It adds no PostHog cookie or persisted analytics/session identifier; only the listed local-storage consent marker is retained.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ku_vid | Kennington Upholstery | Random browser identifier for consented analytics, stable experiment assignment, and optional broad-interest personalisation. The first-party growth database stores only a secret-keyed one-way form. | 180 days |
| ku-session-id | Kennington Upholstery | Groups safe, consented interactions within the current browser session. | Browser session |
| ku-posthog-consent | PostHog EU | Stores only whether PostHog measurement is allowed (yes or no). It contains no visitor identifier, event data, URL, or form value. | Until the choice changes or browser storage is cleared |
Personalisation
Personalisation has no additional third-party tag. It requires analytics and experiments consent and uses the ku_vid identifier plus a short-lived, broad-interest profile in our database. It is disabled by default and can be switched on only after approval.
Storage-free Google Measurement
The Google tag is requested with analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalisation denied by default. While they remain denied, Google may receive limited cookieless measurement requests containing consent state and basic request, page, browser, and conversion information. Successful quote and contact requests use a random, opaque transaction identifier so the same conversion is not counted twice. These denied-storage requests do not include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, message or quote text, or uploaded photographs. Advertising-data redaction is enabled.
Marketing Storage and Measurement
Marketing consent allows Google and Meta advertising storage. For a successful quote or contact request, it also allows the Google tag to use the email address and telephone number entered in that form for enhanced conversion measurement; the tag normalises and hashes that data before transmission. Contact details are never added to the confirmation-page URL. Exact cookies can vary when providers update their services or an approved feature is enabled.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ku-utm | Kennington Upholstery | Stores approved campaign parameters and a path-only landing page for attribution. It does not store arbitrary query text. | 30 days |
| _ga, _gid, _gcl_au and related Google identifiers | Consented advertising measurement and, where separately enabled, Google Analytics measurement. | Varies by identifier and approved Google configuration; commonly a session to 2 years | |
| _fbp, _fbc | Meta | Consented advertising measurement and campaign attribution. | Up to 90 days |
Session Replay
Session replay is disabled by default. If it is approved and enabled, it will require analytics and experiments consent, be sampled, block forms and marked private areas, mask all inputs and private text, and use the published retention period. It is not permitted to record quote details, contact information, uploaded images, account or checkout content, or arbitrary query text.
Browser Controls
You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser. Blocking storage may prevent baskets, account sessions, or saved preferences from working. Browser controls do not replace withdrawal through Cookie Preferences where a provider has already received consented data.
