Sofas & Corner Units
From compact two-seaters to sprawling corner configurations, every sofa and corner unit in our collection is built to order on a solid hardwood frame at our Tottenham Court Road workshop. Choose your dimensions, depth, arm style, and fabric from over 13,000 options. We build it to fit your room exactly.
Bespoke Sofas Built to Your Specifications
Off-the-shelf sofas come in standard sizes. Our bespoke sofas do not. Whether you need a 190cm two-seater for a narrow Victorian terrace or a 350cm corner unit to fill an open-plan living space, we build to your exact measurements. Every frame is kiln-dried hardwood (beech or birch), joined with dowels and corner blocks and built to last 25 years or more.
You control the details: seat depth (standard, deep, or extra deep), arm style (scroll, square, or slim), back height, cushion type (fixed, loose, or fibre-wrapped foam), and leg finish. We walk you through every option so there are no surprises.
Corner Units & L-Shaped Sofas
Corner sofas are our speciality. We build left-hand and right-hand configurations, symmetrical and asymmetrical layouts, and can include chaise ends, snuggler sections, or integrated footstools. Because we build to your room dimensions, you get the maximum seating from your floor plan without wasted space.
Many customers come to us after discovering that standard corner units are either too large or too small for their room. A bespoke corner sofa solves that problem permanently. We can also match an existing sofa with a new corner extension, matching frame depth, arm height, same fabric.
Sofa Reupholstery
If you already own a quality sofa with a solid frame, reupholstery makes more sense than buying new. A two-seater starts from £1,348 and a three-seater from £1,500–£2,000, including a full strip-back, re-padding where needed, and recovering in your chosen fabric.
Corner units and Chesterfields sit at the higher end due to their complexity. Deep-buttoned Chesterfields are among the most labour-intensive pieces to reupholster: each button is individually placed and tied through the padding. Read our detailed pricing guide for realistic costs by sofa type.
Choosing Sofa Fabric
A sofa is the hardest-working piece of furniture in most homes. We recommend a minimum Martindale rating of 25,000 rubs for family use and 40,000+ for households with pets or young children. Performance fabrics like Aquaclean and Fibreguard resist stains without sacrificing feel. Velvet remains our most popular choice, and modern performance velvets are nothing like the delicate pile of decades ago.
A three-seater typically needs 12–16 metres of fabric depending on the design and pattern repeat. We can advise on fabric quantities and help you choose something that balances aesthetics, durability, and budget. Browse our fabric collections or order free samples to see them at home.
