Reddit-Style Guide: Restaurant Booth Reupholstery Cost

Restaurant booth upholstery costs are hard to estimate from a Reddit photo because the visible cover is only one part of the job. The installation conditions matter too.

Short Answer

Restaurant booth reupholstery cost depends on the seating length, construction, foam condition, contract fabric, fire performance, removal, access, and how much downtime the business can tolerate.

Measure By Sections, Not Just Seats

Banquettes can be straight, curved, fluted, buttoned, boxed, fixed to walls, or built in sections. A simple linear metre estimate is useful only after the construction is understood.

Photos should show full runs, corners, backs, bases, seams, and how the seating is fixed.

Foam And Structure May Need Work

Hospitality seating gets heavy daily use. Foam can flatten, bases can loosen, seams can split, and corners can wear through.

If only the fabric is replaced while the foam is collapsed, the seating may still look tired and feel uncomfortable.

Fabric Specification Is Commercial

Contract fabric should be chosen for abrasion, cleaning, fire performance, and the type of venue. A domestic velvet or linen may not survive restaurant use.

Crib 5 and other commercial fire-performance requirements should be checked before the design is approved.

Downtime Has A Cost

The quote should cover removal, workshop time, installation, and whether work can be staged around service hours.

For restaurants, timing can be as important as fabric choice because closed covers lose revenue.
