Armchair reupholstery cost depends on style, internal condition, fabric choice, and detail. A simple tub chair is very different from a wingback, club chair, button-back chair, or antique chair with spring and frame work.

Shape Drives Labour

A plain square chair with simple panels is quicker than a wingback with curved arms, shaped wings, piping, pleats, and a loose cushion. Deep buttoning, studs, skirts, and patterned fabric all add fitting time.

This is why two chairs of similar size can have very different prices.

The Inside May Matter More Than The Cover

Older armchairs often need more than new fabric. Webbing may have stretched, springs may have shifted, padding may have collapsed, and old fillings may need replacing.

If the chair looks tired but sits beautifully, it may still be a strong candidate. If it creaks, twists, or sinks heavily, the quote should include investigation of the internal structure.
