D-Nuts are a type of insert nut for wood that provide a strong and permanent thread and are commonly used in flat pack knock down furniture.
To use drill a pilot hole (allow for hole 2mm bigger than the size of the D-Nut i.e. an 8mm hole for an M6 D-Nut) and screw in the D-Nut with an Allen key.
The D-Nut has a flanged end which stops wood splitting and also ensures that you do not drive the D-Nut too far into the furniture. The D-Nut’s internal thread enables joint connector bolts to be secured for furniture assembly.
To use pre-drill a hole (allow for hole to be 1.5mm bigger than the size of the T-Nut i.e. a 9.5mm hole for an M8 T-Nut). Now tap in place with a hammer and you are good to go.
